It’s particularly noteworthy for providing us with the world’s greatest Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc, but it doesn’t end there! Spanning from the centre of the country to the Atlantic coast, the “Garden of France” is a vinous treasure trove. Join the Metro Mates for an evening celebrating the delights of the Loire.

Everyone at Metrovino is insatiably obsessed with wine, and we’ve noticed that tastings with narrow thematic parameters can sometimes bridle our seething enthusiasm. Cue our series “The Metro Mixtape” that allows our staff to offer a tasting that is a true reflection of their palate.

France and wine are virtually synonymous, and for very good reasons. This evening we'll dive into the history of how and why some of France’s most historic wine regions came to be, and how French wine changed the vinous landscape of the world.

Grenache is a chameleon grape variety that produces a multitude of wine styles. It can work its magic solo or it can be the ultimate in “squad goals” in a blend. Equally, some styles are brawny and hedonistic, while others convey elegance and freshness. Join the Metro Mates to experience the Grenache rainbow. The focus will be on reds, but perhaps a sneaky Blanc or two will find its way into the line-up.
