DOMAINE LEFLAIVE, Puligny-Montrachet
The wines of Anne-Claude Leflaive are synonymous with the village of Puligny-Montrachet; no other estate so consistently delivers wines of such power and intensity allied with the class and precision that one expects from this hallowed land.
The vineyard holdings are a veritable inventory of Puligny’s great terroirs: for those with the capacity to find available bottles and the pecuniary means to buy them, there are the grand crus Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet.
The premier crus consist of significant holdings in Clavoillon and Les Pucelles as well as parcels in Folatières and Combettes. Add to this a showstopping village Puligny and one of the region’s most succulent Bourgogne Blancs and you have 24 hectares of the most meticulously farmed and well-represented land in Burgundy.
Madame Leflaive and her long-time régisseur Pierre Morey were Burgundian pioneers of bioydynamic viticulture and these days she is assisted by the intelligent and talented Eric Remy.
Look no further for white Burgundy at its most dazzling.
